A SPRING FESTIVAL FULL OF COLOURS, MUSIC AND ATMOSPHERE
For McKinsey & Company's Spring Festival, the historic Wappenhalle of the old Munich Airport was transformed into a colorful event location. Under the motto "Colors of the Night," guests experienced a unique evening with impressive LED performances, high-quality culinary highlights, and first-class live music.
The theme was perfectly captured at the reception, with the guests' colorful dress code and the venue's vibrantly decorated ambiance. High-quality appetizer buffets at various stations ensured a relaxed start to the evening.
The official opening was a short speech about a new charity, before the first show act of the evening followed: black-clad dancers with LED elements performed an energetic performance that led the audience into the main hall. There, the choreography continued on stage with a drum performance – a fascinating visual highlight that perfectly matched the colorful lighting.

Afterwards, the street-food-style dinner began. Various stalls offered high-quality dishes, accompanied by an exclusive dessert buffet.
After a brief address by the Munich-based McKinsey Managing Director, the McKinsey Band, comprised of company employees, got the guests in the mood with energetic pop and rock cover songs, leading seamlessly into the party portion.
A special highlight was the honoring of the new McKinsey partners, who received symbolic air guitars as trophies as a humorous gesture – a moment that created a lively atmosphere.
The evening's crowning finale was DJ Alle Farben, one of Germany's most famous DJs, who rocked the dance floor with a two-hour set of electronic music. His hits created an extraordinary atmosphere and turned the party into a truly memorable experience.
CHALLENGES & TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION

Versatile lighting moods : From daylight to LED staging to club lighting, the camera technology required rapid adaptation. The mix of available light and flash photography enabled a perfect balance between mood lighting and sharp, dynamic images.

Performance photography : The LED dancers presented a particular challenge – precise timing was required to optimally capture the color intensity of the LEDs without losing the dynamics of the movement.

Event documentation & atmosphere : In addition to classic reportage shots, the focus was on atmospheric overall images, performance shots and snapshots that convey the event emotionally.

CONCLUSION
The McKinsey Spring Festival 2023 was an exceptionally colorful and energetic event. The combination of vibrant decorations, innovative show acts, first-class live music, and a top-notch DJ set created a special atmosphere that was both festive and captivating. The photographic and videographic implementation placed high demands on lighting, dynamics, and performance photography—a challenging but exciting project.
With this mix of professional event photography, creative performance documentation and flexible lighting adjustment, we were able to capture the event optimally and preserve it for the guests and the company.
